The Dean of Middle School leads and supports school wide efforts to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for 168 middle school students. This position leverages restorative practice framework to enhance student development. The dean develops and implements interventions for the middle school community which includes individual goal setting meetings, weekly check-ins with students, and weekly communication with parents and special intervention teams. Lastly the dean assists with coaching of teachers and teaching assistant staff on student development and conflict resolution

The director is responsible for the development and provision of programs and services which foster success, satisfaction and enhancement of the university experience. Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of a university-wide strategy designed to increase the recruitment, matriculation, support, retention and ultimate graduation of students designated as under-represented enrolled at Case Western Reserve University (African American, Latino/Hispanic, Native American and Pacific Islander), as well as other diverse or historically marginalized student populations. Additionally, the director will develop and provide programs and services that will support and enhance the academic, social, emotional and overall success of diverse and historically marginalized students including, but not limited to BIPOC, First Generation, Undocumented/DACA and Low Income students as well as the entire Case Western Reserve University student body.

The Associate Director of Multicultural Leadership and Programming is responsible for the creation and implementation of the department’s student leadership and programming initiatives. The Associate Director serves as the main advisor to Undergraduate Diversity Collaborative, is responsible for creating a comprehensive leadership development program for multicultural students and student organizations. Additionally the Associate Director works with the OMA team to design and implement a variety of high impact social, cultural, and educational programs for diverse student communities. The Associate Director is responsible for key departmental functions including overseeing the office’s strategic planning and assessment initiatives, implementing opportunities for staff professional development, and seeking outside resources for program/initiative funding which include pursing grants and partnering with Alumni and Development departments on campus. The Associate Director also serves as a supervisor for professional staff within the office.

The Assistant Director of Student Advocacy and Programming is responsible for the creation and implementation of the department's programming initiatives. These initiatives include advising the Undergraduate Diversity Collaborative, coordinating the Diversity Peer Mentoring Program, and recruiting & operating the Sustained Dialogue Campus Network. Additionally I assist with implementing a campus-wide bias reporting system and diversity training program on campus.

The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Multicultural Programming is responsible for advising multicultural student organizations and providing support and advocacy for under-represented and under served student populations. The AD collaborates with students, faculty and staff to coordinate, enhance, and strengthen cross-cultural education and programs. The assistant director also partners with students and colleagues to foster and enrich a campus environment that is inclusive, pluralistic, and diverse. The AD cultivates relationships with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and promote engagement in campus intellectual, social, recreational, and cultural opportunities. The AD counsels students and connect them with academic and student life support services which enhance their success and student experience. The assistant director is responsible for developing students’ cultural competencies and prepare them to succeed in a diverse, global society.
