Architecture and modelling of the solution and its complex source. Advised roadmap and sprint planning to deliver the department’s first project on time and to budget. Used Azure DevOps, Visual Studio and the full SQL Server 2014 Enterprise platform (T-SQL, SSAS, SSRS, MDS). Design and built operational datastores (ODS) feeding a conformed Kimball dimensional data warehouse for reporting via a custom web app, Qlik, excel, SSAS, SSRS and Power BI. Implemented Master Data Services. Trained staff on performance tuning, MDS, SSAS, PowerQuery and PowerPivot.

Project 2 – Commercial Currency Trading - Lloyds Banking Group (Feb 2018 – Sept 2018, 2 renewals)Architect and lead developer of a new commercial currency trading data warehouse on Microsoft SQL Server 2014. Led an agile team using Jira and the Kimball methodology to design and build the solution. Ran data workshops with stakeholders and users to investigate, architect and document the data from multiple sources. Built the fully-audited ETL process, using SSIS and T-SQL stored procedures, to stage data before loading a star schema using concurrent columnstore fact partitioning. Guided users to self-serve with Excel and T-SQL, and created exports to push to other systems, including the SAP general ledger. Project 1 – Commercial Banking - Lloyds Banking Group (Sept 2016 - Feb 2018, 5 renewals)Joined an existing team to develop a new data warehouse for commercial banking using the Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 platform. The data warehouse comprised of multiple layers for staging, a normalised operational data store and a Kimball star schema. The project included liaising with stakeholders, designers, developers and analysts, as well as technical development of SSIS, SSAS and the data warehouse.

Lead the architecture, design and implementation of a new Microsoft BI solution across the Group. Required diplomacy and excellent communications with directors, managers and staff to ensure BI adoption during a change in culture. Provided end-user training and assistance to successfully apply BI to improve business processes and profit.Initial priority to provide sales, budget and forecast analysis. The following priorities were; to provide detailed cost and profit reporting; to provide analysis of Overall Equipment Effectiveness for manufacturing sites; commodity and bill of materials analysis to help improve Procurement and forecasting. The data primarily came from Dynamics AX supplemented with data from TXTDemand, Government ONS, MetOffice, SQL Master Data Services, and downloads from supplier web portals.The core was a Microsoft SQL 2014 data warehouse, loaded using SSIS, T-SQL, CTEs, stored procedures, functions, cursors and partition switching from multiple sources via a staging database. Data cleansed and conformed into a Kimball star schema data warehouse. Designed and implemented a multi-dimensional OLAP cube with Excel 2013 and PowerPivot, Power View and SharePoint 2013 Enterprise BI Centre. Implemented MDS for stewardship of master data.Yeo Valley is the UK's largest organic dairy, based in the South West, employing over 1800 staff with £300m+ turnover. Yeo Valley farms raw materials and manufactures a variety of dairy products, either branded as Yeo Valley, or own-brand for most UK supermarkets.

Developed a Microsoft SQL data warehouse for in-house analytics and reporting of business operations and management information.Development of Microsoft Integration Services (SSIS 2008R2) packages for gathering and loading data from various data silos into the Data Warehouse (SQL Server 2008R2) following the Kimball Dimensional Modelling methodology. Development of Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS 2008R2) cubes for analytical use through T-SQL, Excel and PowerPivot. Development of Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS 2008R2) reports using T-SQL and MDX. Created a .NET web interface for centralised end-user access to reports and other features including Highcharts (using jQuery) and B.I. guides. Support of the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 stack. Implemented SubVersioN (SVN) source control for project auditing and deployments. Authored technical designs based on business requirements for development. Liaison with senior management and directors for requirements gathering.
