I worked in providing production services in the entertainment industry with my own company Trench Entertainment until my mid 20's when I went to University.In NUI Galway I studied Psychology and Sociology & Politics as a BA, and then moved on to a MA in Digital Media wanting to expand my range of skills.I decided to pursue a PhD in Media with Maynooth University so that I could get experience in teaching computer skills and methods for working as a team.My PhD research has been studying how creative communities online work by studying the 2014 phenomenon Twitch Plays Pokémon. This required me to quickly learn how to manage large datasets, social media API's, and ways of querying and visualising large datasets.Outside of work I typically enjoying getting better at the things I'm not proficient at like learning languages, drawing and music.
