Accomplished executive with a high degree of business acumen and a history of leading for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations using a balance of strategic planning, tactical execution, and structural alignment. Acutely aware of the importance of managing relationships with stakeholders through frequent and effective communication, and particularly adept at influencing successful outcomes through early recognition of opportunities and challenges, followed by careful planning, clear messaging, and decisive action. As President of Five States Energy, I lead an experienced and driven team of accounting, finance, engineering, operations, asset acquisition, and marketing personnel that are focused on creating value for our fund and corporate investors. Throughout our 38-year history, Five States team has built a reputation for being available and responsive to our network of financial advisors, family offices, HNW individuals and institutional investors. Currently, we build, issue and manage investment funds that are singularly focused on real assets in energy. In the coming years our newest subsidiary, Five States Sustainable Energy, will be offering funds designed around sustainable energy technologies, products and services. My career is largely centered around energy, engineering and finance, but in various industries including oil and gas (upstream and downstream), higher education, thermo-chemical research, and energy investing. I also have a diverse philanthropic background having led boards or capital campaigns for non-profits providing a range of human services, individual/family wellness, and elementary education in economically distressed areas. My work in the for-profit and non-profit sectors has been equally formative and developmental. Work assignments are where I honed skills in project management, relationship management, financial analysis, and strategic planning. My exposure to the entirety of the strategic planning process - from initial visioning through final implementation, is where I learned first-hand to advance a concept to the point of actualization. Similarly, leading a company on ground-breaking research taught me how to effectively lead others while balancing the aspects of vision, scope, time and budget.
