-Responsible for managing the performance of 9 underwriters.-Manage the relationship between the underwriting team and our highest-producing branches across the Midwest. -Make strategic decisions and load balance to maintain 24 hour turn-time for resubs and 48 hour turn-time for underwrites/pre-approvals.-Handle complex escalations from Team Leads, Underwriters, and branches.-Interview potential underwriters and make hiring recommendations. -Work extensively to develop new underwriters and improve the performance of the existing underwriters.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area (Work Remotely)

-Producing Team Lead responsible for ensuring 14 underwriters adhere to service standards and SLAs (2 day UWs, 1 day resubs) on a daily basis, as well as underwriting 20 loans a month myself (FHA and Conventional).-Assist underwriters and 33 retail branches with questions regarding agency/investor guidelines, CrossCountry philosophy, gray areas, turn-times, etc. -Work with Senior Management on department strategy and direction. -Research and present exception requests to Senior Management. -Conduct new Underwriter training sporadically.

Petaluma, Ca

-Responsible for underwriting Wholesale and Retail Conventional/FHA/USDA mortgages. -Work in a high-volume environment with a substantial pipeline. -Provided feedback to management, account executives, loan officers, and processors to improve performance and efficiency.

-Primary underwriter for all FNMA insured, Portfolio, and HELOC/Fixed 2nd mortgages. Followed Fannie Mae guidelines when appropriate, as well as made manual underwriting decisions to ensure Cooperative was appropriately insured and our department was providing the best possible service to our members. -Prioritized a large underwriting pipeline to ensure member and department expectations were exceeded. -Provided leadership and guidance to all Mortgage Operations staff.-Ran the Subordination Desk, which included correspondence with members and new first lenders, prioritization to avoid lock expiration issues, and review/execution of subordination documents. Also, delegated tasks to Subordination Assistant.-2011 Mortgage Lending Department representative on the Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is a group consisting of one person from each department/branch who meet with the CEO once per month to discuss various Redwood Credit Union related topics and solutions to any issues that arise. -Co-chair of the 2011 RCUNet Advisory Sub-Committee. The RCUNet sub-committee was charged with improving several aspects of the RCU intranet including employee engagement, usability, and efficiency. Designed and administered a survey to all RCU staff. Analyzed results and provided recommendations to senior staff including the CEO, CFO, and CTO.

Santa Rosa, Ca

-Performed designated duties within the Santa Rosa Wholesale branch including underwriting Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae secured loans, signing off conditions, drawing loan documents, reviewing funding packages and closing loans, and providing service to our existing mortgage brokers. -Designed the Underwriting Training Manual and Program, which encompasses all aspects of underwriting training, including content, timelines, visual aids, and supplementary training. -Responsible for training and mentoring new underwriters, both locally and nationally, by conducting a new underwriter course at the Provident Corporate Headquarters and by reviewing their loan files for accuracy. Also responsible for the education of new trainers.-Managed the process of liquidating 20 plus bank-owned properties by overseeing vendors including real estate agents, property management companies, escrow officers/closing attorneys, and landscapers.-Traveled to Salt Lake City, the Wholesale Division’s busiest branch, as a consultant to improve overall efficiency and performance.
