My career journey has been a wild one, here's a brief historyPastor - Since I was a teenager I had a deep hunger to feel welcomed and make sure others around me felt welcome. Right after college I took a job as a youth pastor at Life Vineyard Church and took leadership roles and making congregation members feel welcomed into that community. After a year in this role I realized the ability to make people feel welcomed in the community was absolutely my calling, but being a pastor was not my career.Bike Shop - I always loved riding bicycles and still do to this day! After leaving my role at the church I took a job at roll: Bicycle Company, initially as a service technician, which turned into a sales role. After a few months doing in store sales the company launched their own line of bicycles assembled right here in Columbus, OH and I took over nation sales and distribution and traveled the country selling our bikes to the best bike shops in the coolest cities. However, I ended up meeting my now wife, Claire, and the traveling made it difficult for me to continue to spend time with her. So I wanted something a bit more local.Beer! - I don't think it gets much more local than local craft beer. I started working at North High Brewing in the sales and distribution role, essentially selling our kegs to local bars. The friendly proverbial "let's grab a beer" was literally my job and that deep hunger to make people welcome was being lived out in my career in a way I never expected. My First House - While I was at the brewery I decided to buy my first house. It was a daunting task and I had no idea what I was doing but I bought the house and had two roommates move in and pay rent which covered the mortgage and I was hooked! I made a few mistakes along the way though and wished I had better guidance in the process. I new I could give good guidance to people going through the same thing and decided to give real estate a shot. Solo Realtor - My first two years I was a one man show. Taking care of marketing, advising clients and doing all of the paper work. This was a blast but shortly after getting married realized I was working too much and needed help.Embark Group - In February of 2022 I formally launched the Embark Group. This was a group of Realtors with varying skills to best serve our clients. This freed me up to do what I do best, making our clients feel welcome and advising them on the daunting journey of home buying and selling. We have ambitious goals in 2023 and always are looking for the best people int he industry to join us!
