I am currently working on starting my career in accounting. I have taken a wide range of classes to help strengthen my writing and presentation skills. I have also been exposed to various types of people through group work in my classes. I am very efficient at completing tasks by myself as well as with a team. It is important for a team to effectively and efficiently work together in order to provide the best quality product to the task that has been given. Taking several different Accounting classes has also prepared me for joining the work force. Being proficient in software, such as Excel and Word, is essential for an Accountant, and will save you the time and money because training will not be necessary on the given topics.I worked in the automobile industry for five years. My experiences at work have helped me grow as a person and become a very efficient employee. At my job, team work has been a vital skill in order to complete daily tasks. Interacting with customers, sales department, service department, and anyone in the dealership has reinforced my oral communication skills. I take pride in my work, and will own up for everything I am responsible for.After I graduated with my Masters of Science - Accounting in spring 2022, Hall Imports invited me back for a summer accounting internship. I would process the daily bank deposit while also learning various aspect of the auto industry. Reconciliations of Mazda, Volkswagen, gas, and other process were done at least once a month. I was also shown how both accounts receivable and payable were performed. I am truly grateful to Hall for allowing me to come back to gain valuable knowledge in several different processes that utilized my accounting background. In December of 2022, I started working as a teller for North Shore Bank. As a Teller, I regularly conduct deposits and withdrawals for customers. While conducting these transactions, I am able to talk to the customers about their financial goals and try to offer valuable solutions to help them achieve their goals. Although not seen as often, I also process domestic wire transfers, bond redemptions, CD renewals. along with other miscellaneous tasks.After a year and a half of working as a Bank Teller with North Shore, an opportunity presented itself to apply more of my accounting related skills. In late June of 2024, I was promoted to a new role in the accounting department. Here, I am able to gain valuable first hand experince in the accounting functions of a large corporation.
