Trusted by core shareholders to head the HR function in the Group parent company, at the peak of the growth cycle in the Greek market. My role covered the full HR spectrum for the Greek region and the Group Corporate Centre (around 2000 employees). Succeeded in attracting and retaining a motivated workforce capable to grasp market opportunities and in elevating the business partnering role and status of the HR function. Effectively managed relations with the 6 local labour Unions.

Joined TITAN Cement (6500 employees) in the Group OD Director role to design, and implement modern HR processes, performance linked meritocratic compensation schemes as well as leadership development programs for senior executives. As of 2004 also appointed to the role of Corporate HR Director for the US Region (more than 2300 employees) and successfully re-established the HR function and enhanced bonding of TITAN America with the Group.

Selected to lead the HR function of the new HP, following the HP/Compaq global merger, being one of the six members of the Country Board. Responsible for the HR integration of the Greek subsidiaries and managing all HR areas of responsibility. Within a year in the role, integration was successfully completed in Organizational Design and Selection, Workforce Reductions, Cultural Integration, Job Architecture and C&B harmonization.

In addition to the HR Director role, I was also appointed to the role of Marketing, CRM/e-Commerce Director for Compaq in Greece. Both roles were at Country Board level. In the Marketing role I mainly focused on changing Compaq’s brand image from a “PC maker” to an “IT Solutions Provider” thus contributing to the growth of Compaq Enterprise Solutions which offered significantly higher margins and on expanding sales through e-commerce in the local market.

Successfully led and completed the cultural and HR systems and processes integration in the Greek BU for Compaq (global leader in personal computers), which had recently merged with Digital (DEC). Elevated the calibre and status of the HR function and established a strong employer brand in the local market. During the Eurobank/Interbank merger, I was selected by Eurobank ExCom for the critical role of Compensation & Benefits Manager to lead the establishment of common C&B schemes and the successful integration of HR processes, tools, payroll and HR management systems. Successful completion of the integration elevated the status of the function and the Bank’s ability to attract and retain key talent.

Joined the fast growing, very competitive and dynamic Greek private Bank Interbank SA, as the Deputy HR Director, initially focusing on setting up the function. Main Achievements include establishing a people oriented image for the Bank, upgrading and transforming the administration, focused Personnel Department to a comprehensive HR Department.

Appointed by BP Management to lead as IT specialist the selection, customization and implementation of a new HRMS/payroll application. After completing the project, successfully made the move from IT to HR as Personnel Officer focusing on system administration, payroll, compensation and job levelling. Following the completion of my studies in the application of Information Technology, my first full time job was analyst-programmer developing computer applications for BP in Greece (programming in COBOL on the company's IBM 4361 mainframe computer and on PCs).
