I help children, adolescents and adults establish and explore personalized learning opportunities. My tools and strategies leverage the learner's natural talents and curiosities as well as provide effective workarounds for their deficits. In the end, my clients emerge with a stronger sense of their skills and how/when to apply them. The lessons are designed to help individuals empower themselves as well as offer advocacy solutions for their parents, teachers and coaches. There is no learning more important than how to be your best self. These skills and beliefs live on in XtraOrdinaryLearning Inc.

Home Schooling in the 21st century is a progressive and courageous endeavor for many families. My role as Home School Teacher was to guide and support their learning while keeping them compliant with state and charter policies. While I continued to focus on building relationships with parents and students, this role had me outside of classrooms and into living rooms. This unique dynamic gave me the opportunity to draw upon my own parenting as common ground for our endeavors.

Transitioned back to the U.S. with a one year contract in the Redondo Beach USD. I joined other educators in building a dynamic community of learners. I facilitated the integration of personalized learning elements (interest, curiosity, engagement, creativity, collaboration) with those of the Common Core. Results were deep dive learning experiences and enthusiastic student presentations of work.

Managed a progressive sixth grade program. Highlights included a dynamic Humanities program utilizing US curriculum, Service Learning and a rich regional and cultural history and population to explore in context.Coached teachers in Research & Brain-Based Instructional Strategies as leader of the Curriculum Development team.Served as a School Community Liaison in a number of initiatives and capacities (Strategic Planning, Superintendent Candidate Search, etc.)
