As a Railroad and Transportation Foreman I am highly successful at directing rail operations with a focus on passenger safety and on-time service. I am highly effective at resolving major incidents with minimal impact to daily operations. My excellent communication skills afford me the ability to work effectively with all departments. I have a solid knowledge of FRA rules and regulations as well as Positive Train Control (PTC) and New Jersey Transit policies. Currently, I am The Chief Road Foreman of Engines for the New Jersey Transit Rail Operations where I oversee daily operations and supervise locomotive engineers to guarantee delivery of safe and reliable on-time service to all passengers. I ensure all activities and employees comply with NJ transit, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Positive Train Control (PTC) and Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee (NORAC) rules and regulations. I provide the training and support necessary to enable employees to perform their daily activities successfully. Part of my responsibilities is to investigate major incidents including derailments, fatalities, collisions, and service disruptions and document all aspects of major incidents with a detailed report of the incident. I work closely with all departments during service disruptions to guarantee service delivery is not compromised. I am proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. I have a staff of 9 senior road foreman that manage roughly 250 locomotive engineers to ensure they meet FRA requirements. I also monitor operational testing and performance of transportation employees to identify potential violations and escalate for discipline when appropriate. I also work with management teams and vendors responsible for performing PTC equipment testing. While in this position, I was instrumental in creating a proposal of assignment changes to address the shortage of engineers by reducing the number of engineers required to operate daily service while presenting a cost-saving solution without jeopardizing the quality of service.
