In my current position as President of Fairview Physician Associates Network I provide overall leadership for a Clinically Integrated Network composed of over 4000 physicians and APPs, over 100 practices, and over 700,000 covered lives. As Chief of Specialty Services for the Fairview Health Medical Group I also provide leadership to an employed group of over 500 specialty physicians and advance practice providers. I continue to practice medicine as an urgent care physician. My dual medical and business training allows me to partner effectively with both clinicians and healthcare executives. With experience in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, EMS, hospital leadership, network leadership, and medical group leadership, I can lead effectively across health care settings. I have experience in both academic and community settings, and working with payers.I bring extensive leadership experience in medical group management, medical staff credentialing, peer review, patient safety, infection control, education, IRB, and medical ethics. I am directly responsible for our group's P&L, and have extensive experience in lean systems, quality improvement, patient safety, infection control, strategy, operations, patient care and clinician relations. Finally, my work in reducing health disparities along with my global health volunteer experience in Africa and South America provide me with a unique perspective on improving health care in underserved populations.
