During this time of leadership, I managed Short’s role in the successful World Equestrian Games, held in Lexington, Kentucky, which was attended by 400,000 plus spectators and netted over 26 million dollars in sales revenue for the central Kentucky region. This was accomplished through a well-defined and logistic management process through group ticket sales, hotel commissions from 150-plus hotels, private home leasing, car service contracts and campground rentals. Oversaw the process to manage accommodations for athletes, sponsors, media, international and domestic groups, and individuals attending the World Games. During this same time, I successfully developed the marketing plan and launch of Short’s proprietary event online hotel and car booking tool. Instrumental in leading the NCAA in developing a grass roots national brand campaign for NCAA Basketball by introducing the first and only promotional character, JJ Jumper, promotional tool kits for the membership, an NCAA Basketball website, and agency produced 30-second television spots that ran during NCAA Championships on CBS and ESPN.Increased NCAA’s annual revenues through high profile special events honoring student-athletes, national leaders and championship participants by executing quality controlled / administrative and operational measures. Administered all intramural team sport programs and taught six to eight hours of academic junior/senior level courses in the recreation management/administration core curriculum per semester. Responsible for budget development, recruitment of student officials, training clinics, scheduling of teams and staff, sport facility management and marketing the programs. Founded the first formal intramural officials recognition program and the first student recreation club.
