Bioassay Development and potency determinations for drug candidates at varying stages of development and clinical trial.

I am an adjunct lecturer for the recombinant DNA and recombinant protein expression laboratory courses for Johns Hopkins' Advanced Academic Program in Biotechnology for Masters candidates. I design and execute the laboratory courses for the students to get a real world feel for molecular biology experimentation. The topics include, but are not limited to, nucleic acid purification and manipulation, molecular cloning, restriction enzyme usage, PCR, real time PCR, gel electrophoresis, protein purification, and Western blotting.

I began in a pulmonary lab doing molecular biology manipulations for a lung-specific growth factor. Mainly I characterized its effects on developing mouse tissues and began exploring how its regulation was controlled.I then moved to a neuroinflammation lab to take a managerial position. I continued performing protein manipulations and more molecular biology to explore how prostaglandins, and their receptors, impact inflammation in Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, and stroke. Following this, I was lucky to be a part of a fantastic oncology lab. I was able to return to more of a molecular biological approach to research. We investigated a particular oncogene's role in severe metastatic pancreatic, prostate, and breast cancers.
