Deanbridge International publishes, in association with IESE Business School, the European Family Investment Company Report and facilitates an international community of families-in-business providing them unique data, practical intelligence and facilitated networking.

Verlinvest was founded in 1995 as a family-owned, consumer-focused, diversification investment holding company. Today Verlinvest manages assets of over €1.6bn in value across multiple geographies. I advised Verlinvest on their investment strategy in Asia and relations with other family businesses, family investment companies, potential partners and co-investors there and in Europe.

Gryphon is a British merchant banking and advisory firm, operating since 1991 in the main emerging markets of Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. I provided operational and strategic advice as well as helping connect them with potential investors and partners.

IFB is the UK’s family business organisation and local chapter of The Family Business Network/FBN, supporting and promoting the UK family-owned business sector through events, networking, representation, thought leadership and analysis. When the IFB was founded I was invited to join its launch Advisory Council, stepping down when I sold Campden. In 2012 IFB hosted the FBN Global Summit in London for the second time and I was invited to design and lead a workshop about family investment companies.

I founded Campden originally to publish The Hill magazine, the monthly magazine for the Notting Hill, Kensington, Holland Park and Bayswater area of London. The Hill was sold to another publisher at the end of the 80s and the company then moved into B2B publishing, conferences and exhibitions. After working in areas such as telecoms, transport, industrial coatings and environmental strategy, Campden developed to focus on two sectors: healthcare and international wealth management. In the former we produced information and events for the European hospital sector and family doctors in the UK. In the latter we started by publishing information about international tax and private wealth management; then, at the end of the 90s, I organised the first conference in Europe for family offices, which then grew into a range of private meetings and publications for family offices, family businesses and significant investors in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Campden was sold in 2006 and I exited the business.
