Le Coney and Associates had a permanent showroom in the DMC for some 20 years. Approximately 3000 sq feet dedicated to Unique Gifts, Scientific Toys, Puzzles, Games, Sports Fan Gear and Gifts were our main categories. Our territory was the usual TOLA ( TX-OK-LA-AR) and we had NM many times also. We were representatives for Authentic Models, The Encore Gp, Magique, Memory Co, RIco-Tag, Koosh, Fascinations, and many many more, always trying to find something unique. Even if it did not sell so well, our customers knew they would Always find something interesting to look at and enjoy and so we prospered for many years. Our customer base was made up of some several thousand gift shop,toy stores, art and science museums, zoos. We seemed to have something for almost any store. Also, over the years we sold on multiple occasions to every single Major in our territory. NM-JCP-Dillards-Michaels-Hobby Lobby-Hastings-HEB-Academy-Whole Foods and more. I closed the showroom in July of 2008. It just became more then I wished to continue. I had come to the realization that most of the larger showrooms were run by a Family as opposed to a single principal such as I was. Yes, I had a staff but one cannot substitute for Family. Normally ( smiling) In any event, though not retired by any means, my work and one long term and most trusted associate still are in business. I am still actively working several major accounts for a few lines. My contacts are for the most part still good for most of the Majors I listed and there are more. So if anyone thinks they have a line or a specific item that should be in one of these retailers, please feel free to contact me here.
