Database Administrator
Current• Provide administration of databases throughout the development and production lifecycles.• Design and develop logical and physical database designs from customer requirements.• Complete all database fixes as required.• Provide technical support for all ad-hoc database extracts and reports.• Implemented Oracle data conversion plan strategy for our legacy database to the new CMS Enterprise database.• Communicate any questions and concerns to PM or BA.• Maintain the databases in Development and Prod environment.• Update the database in Development as needed for each release.• Provide final copy of Database deliverables to PM for delivery to CMS/OESS.• Develop the conversion process as needed for Database changes; execute in Development and validate; refine as necessary.• Perform administrative tasks for several Oracle databases on both Windows and Linux platforms.• Modify the database design during system testing.• Document the Version Control Procedure.• Execute the final conversion in DEV as part of the PROD development; copy the tables to PROD and validate the results.• Provide PM with progress/status reports as needed for assigned project plan tasks.• Provide mentorship to mid and junior level staff.• Establish and practice a consistent database backup and recovery practice that compiles with the backup and retention policies and business continuity practices.• Install and configure Oracle Restart 11gR2 on Linux Redhat.• Refine and manage baseline configurations for the enterprise database environment.• Provide 24x7 operational supports for all databases on a rotating schedule, after hours on-call support and apply production packages during non-peak hours.• Provide the implementation of replication, virtualization backup tasks.• Act as subject matter expert for all database systems.
