Transferred to BEAR following award of the New Management Contract (NMC) for the southeast trunk road network. I have worked on the following schemes:Designer, Project Manager & Site Representative - Forth Road Bridge (FRB), Phase 6 of Suspended Span Under-Deck Access (SSUDA) refurbishment and strengthening project (£1.5m value)o Wrote the Statement of Intent (SOI), Designers Risk Register (DRR), PCI, Specification, BOQ and MoM; marked tenders; appointed the subcontractor, drafted the CPP. o Attended site daily, checking adherence to TW and PW designs and compliance with the Method Statements; stopped any work I considered unsafe or not to design; assessed Technical Queries; measured invoices; chaired progress meetings; compiled Health and Safety File. Designer - FRB North Viaduct Platform Refurbishment project (£400k) o Wrote the SOI, AIP, DRR, PCI, Specification, BOQ and MoM; designed new staircases and guardrails.o Modelled the effects of the Viaduct Platform (installed 1971) on the permanent bridge structure using MIDAS Civil and determined that strengthening was not required.o Project awaits construction budget.Co-Designer of the FRB Staging Board Edge Protection project (£600k)o Worked alongside contractor’s designer to design and test guardrails to retrofit to the staging boards.o Ensured system complied with standards. I am currently working as:Designer - FRB Main Tower CCTV Cameras project (£48k)o Additional cameras to complete the coverage of both 2.5km footpaths.o Wrote DRR, PCI and Specification; designed camera brackets to attach to main tower legs; calculated strength capacity for proposed new holes.Category 2 Checker - Assessment of A68 220 Earlston Bridge (£51k)o Performing a Grillage Analysis using AutoCAD to draw bespoke composite sections then importing those into Midas Civil to build a grillage model.CDM Auditor for the Major Bridges teamo Advise colleagues on actions to comply with CDM Regulations and the NMC.

Promoted from Graduate Engineer to Assistant Engineer following successful completion of the graduate programme. I was Designer and Assistant Site Representative on Phases 4a and 5 of the Suspended Span Under-Deck Access (SSUDA) refurbishment and strengthening project.

On Amey Graduate Development Programme, which involved four rotations over 2 years.1st Rotation - Roads Structural Maintenance: Designed structural maintenance works for Transport Scotland (TS). Involved analysing road surfaces and core samples, proposing and justifying structural maintenance works, costing schemes and analysing value for money to the client. Based at Eurocentral.2nd Rotation - Geotechnical: On-site investigation and desk-based research to produce Preliminary Sources Study Reports (PSSRs) for A9 Dualling Perth to Luncarty, for Scottish Water. Based at Eurocentral.3rd Rotation - Network Structures: Production of CDM documents for TS bridge scour schemes. Delivered TS IA 20 Half-Joint Structures Report on Kincardine Bridge. Based at Eurocentral.4th Rotation – Requested move to Forth Bridges Contract. Appointed Assistant Project Manager and Assistant Site Representative on Phase 4 of the Suspended Span Under-Deck Access (SSUDA) refurbishment and strengthening project.

• Voluntary, unpaid directorship.• Worked on a 900 kW wind turbine project, the income from which finances the maintenance and development of footpaths and mountain bike trails in the south-west Falkirk area. • Secured planning consent, grid connection, radar blank and turbine offers.• Involved in site selection, wind resource assessment, feasibility study validation, contractor procurement & management, financial assessment, liaison with manufacturers/ consultants/lawyers and Falkirk Council.

· Self-employed Sales & Marketing Consultant, providing marketing consultancy, business development and project management services.· Diversified the business of an ambulance training company by setting up a Private Client division and gaining it preferred training provider status with the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credit Administration Service. · Grew the Private Client division from start-up to annual sales of £500,000 within 4 years.· Achieved this whilst studying part-time for my BEng with the Open University.
