As a labor representative, I have devoted myself to providing representation and advocacy for private sector employees in the newspaper, magazine, and electronic media industry. “It is the Members that put me here and the Members whom I will serve.” - Teamsters Oath of OfficeDuties include:√ Chief spokesperson in all Local Union matters and affairs.√ Negotiate the terms of Local collective bargaining agreements.√ Administer and enforce compliance of the terms of agreements.√ Investigate the merits of all charges, grievances, and arbitration.√ Compel National Labor Relations Board administrative charges.√ Represent Members at grievance meetings and labor arbitration.√ Assist Members with benefit issues.My objective is to be objective. I do not aspire to wealth nor fame. While organizing is the 'life blood' of the Trade Union Movement, I believe service to its Membership is what insures its continuity. Service is what I provide, on a day-to-day basis.In my experience, collective bargaining agreements are almost always messier than the signatories preferred. Once the ink is dry, analyzing information, interpreting problems and contexts, and providing solutions becomes mission-critical to the success or failure of a contract. The tendency is for the parties to oversimplify — fatally so — preferring to solve problems quickly, rather than completely.I specialize in the accurate evaluation of highly complex situations, even in the absence of reliable information. Built-in ambiguities in labor agreements often demand more than a straightforward interpretation; of which I endeavor to define.
