John Lindsay, ACII , Chartered Insurer. Currently Chairman of the Manchester Liability Society and committee member of the Greater Manchester and West Pennine region of Biba and for the IIM CPD working party. Initially trained as an Underwriter in all departments of a composite insurer before specialising in Liability particularly and transferring to the Broking sector with Stenhouse. Undertook many overseas assignments for major construction projects in Libya , the Sudan and the Middle East. Spent 30 years + with legacy companies that formed Aon , becoming the Divisional Development Director for the North of England 1990 - 2002. Frequent speaker at conferences , AIRMIC , ALARM and for 10 years as the National spokesperson for the DTi on USA Product Liability. Founder member of the Lloyds Insurance Brokers Public Sector committee on procurement issues for local government, Utilities and the rail industry. Pioneered the use of Negotiated Procedure. A guest of Her Majesty the Queen at her Buckingham Palace Garden Party in recognition of services to insurance. Millennium year Chairman for Biba West Pennine region. Retired recently after 8 years with Willis as Executive Director of Client Services.Keen CAMRA member but remain active in the insurance industry via the committees listed.
