John Longfield-Smith is the Sr. Vice President of Payer Solutions for Wellpath. John has over 20 years of creating IT solutions to improve care and reduce expenses through automation and the effective use of technology.John is driven by the desire to be a true partner in his clients’ success. His approach to helping his clients is to focus on the “four legs of the stool” - Improving operations, increasing revenue, reducing expenses, and mitigating risks. He believes in service beyond expectation, which is achieved through a consistent devotion to anticipating and fulfilling evolving client needs. Before joining Wellpath John founded JLS Family Enterprises, an IT services company for the correctional healthcare market. John also served as Director of Health Information Technology at Gulf South Medical Supply and McKesson, where his focus on customers, innovation, improved operational efficiency, and execution led to significant growth. Prior to that, he was CEO of Correctional Health Management, an IT and services company providing back office solutions to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and private correctional healthcare companies. John has extensive experience in operations, sales, and marketing roles with several start-up companies. He is skilled at leading successful efforts to improve operational efficiency, strengthening product lines, and driving growth.
