John was a consultant with Lindsays' Liquor Licensing and Gambling team. He has been accredited as a Specialist in Liquor Licensing Law by the Law Society of Scotland since 1993 and is the immediate past Convenor of their sub committee on liquor licensing. He advises the British Hospitality Association and Scottish Beer and Pubs Association in Scotland. John built an enviable range of experience in the industry over the past 40 years. With a focus on liquor licensing, betting and gaming, his clients included many of Scotland's most well known hospitality and leisure companies. He also provided tailored advice on licensing for more unusual projects, venues and problem issues. John was particularly focused on the licensing aspects of new developments and how this may interrelate with planning applications and permissions. He also has a wide range of Civic Government and taxi experience. He has contributed to Smith & Monkcom "The Law of Gambling" as well as being a former consulting editor to Scottish Licensing Law and Practice and to Licensing Review.
