Building on my previous experiences within the hydrogen energy sector as a material scientist and process engineer, I am now involved with AFC Energy's direction towards catalytic reformate primarily from ammonia fuel and their stationary power applications based on PEM fuel cell technology. I have experience and working knowledge in all stages of membrane electrode assembly.

Previously involved with the research and development of precious metal powders (PGMs) for use as catalysts within a variety of applications, for example PEM fuel cells, electrolysers, water abatement technologies and gas sensors. Also development of PGM inks both particulate and non-particulate ink jet and screen printing. Recently I have been working on an analytical procedure with a view to using a GC-MS coupled with an in-house developed test rig thus allowing kinetic and performance data to be measured for a range of catalysts.

Duties include guidance and training on chemical gasand liquid handling, exposure, waste disposal and specialist fluid handling within the electronic, medical and university institutions. Contracted to provide full contact time lecturing in chemical engineering. I was responsible for developing the teaching modules and delivering them to 2 groups of students at the HND level. I also delivered the programme for the chemistry International Baccalaureate. I was responsible for design and operation of the practical element of all the courses, developing experiments to satisfy course requirements within a budget and timescale.

Developed products in a manufacturing environment which included solvent and water based adhesives for stamps. I also helped formulate improvements for thermal paper coatings based on a solid state mixture of a leuco dye in a matrix which was heat sensitive. I was also responsible for quality assurance doing GC work ensuring toluene levels were strictly controlled.
