About John Luijten

Australian Permanent Resident - University Graduate - 26 Years Old - Full Time Available - Location: CanberraI'm a Logistics Management (Bachelor of Business Administration) graduate with work field experience in retail logistics, production logistics and international distribution logistics. Currently I'm seeking for opportunities that will allow me to continue my career in Logistics and to develop myself into a professional who is able to combine the human factor with the economical aspect to create a formula which is successful in the long run. Since March 2021 I have been granted Australian Permanent Residency what means that I have full and open work rights. If necessary, I'm more than willing to send my VEVO-statement on request. Before I got my Permanent Residency granted I have been working on respectively a Working Holiday Visa and a Bridging Visa A. Both of these Visa-categories have limited me in my choices for work, so that's why I'm very excited to finally start my work for a Logistics company. The field where my expertise is!Are you an employer and reading my work related background with interest? Don't hesitate to contact me via LinkedIn or via johnluijten95@hotmail.com and I'm more than happy to discuss potential job opportunities. I'm ready to excel again!

Senior Logistics Coordinator

Retail Sales Representative

Fyshwick

As a Retail Sales Representative I am working directly with our customers and guide them through the whole process of buying a bike and the required accessories. Every team member of 99 Bikes is responsible for their own directorship. My directorship is "Stock is Cash" which is considered the hardest one. I'm the one responsible for gaining replacement products or credit notes from our supplier related to warranty products. I'm also overlooking the overall receiving process of the store by fixing problems related to invoices received and the matching invoices billed. I believe that my university background in Logistics Managment helps me tremendously by carrying out this important directorship where stock management, accounting and communicating skills are essential.

Food And Beverage Attendant (Level 3)

Civic Pub

Braddon

As a Food And Beverage Attendant (Level 3) I had to work - together with my colleagues - in the bar and restaurant area of the Civic Pub, located in the busy centre of Canberra. This part contains a 100pax pub style restaurant, a pool area and an upstairs gaming area. My main responsibility was to look after the guest by being a bar tender and assisting the floor staff with serving food and drinks to tables. During my time at the Civic Pub I have worked in a variety of shifts, what means I am used to both morning and late evening shifts. The relationship with the guests was very important to me, because I believe that making people comfortable is an advantage for both the pub as for the person itself. I decided to have two jobs to benefit myself financially. After being rewarded with a full time job at 99 Bikes I decided to quit my job at the Civic Pub.

Jul 2021 - Aug 2022

Food And Beverage Attendant (Level 3)

Petrie, Queensland, Australia

As a Food And Beverage Attendant (Level 3) I had to work - together with my colleagues - in the Bistro area of the Petrie Hotel. This part contains a 100pax pub style restaurant and a Gaming Area with 40 gaming machines. My responsibility was to look after the guest in both the restaurant as the gaming area by serving food, attending the bar, pay out winnings for gaming machines and solving problems related to the gaming machines. The Petrie Hotel was up and running from 10am in the morning till 4am the next night. During my time at the Petrie Hotel I have worked in a variety of shifts, what means I am used to both morning and late night shifts. The relationship with the guests was very important to me, because I believe that making people comfortable is an advantage for both the hotel as for the person itself. The Petrie Hotel is part of the ALH Group, the hospitality tier of the Woolworths Group.

Retail Sales Specialist - Core Area Kitchens

North Lakes, Brisbane

As a Sales Representative at IKEA North Lakes, I am responsible to answer the customers enquiries and correctly presenting the IKEA range. To do this in the best possible way, understanding of the range and the various departments and internal procedures are essential. The logistical preparations for the next day are also part of my duties. The departments (read: HFBs) in which I have worked are: "Cookshop", "Kitchens" and "Dining". All these departments are part of the Core Area Kitchens. Due to Visa legislations, I was only offered a 6 months contract (end date: 03 May 2020). On the 1st of May I changed to a different Visa (resp. Bridging Visa A) with full and open work rights without limitations. Unfortunately IKEA wasn't allowed to extend my contract due to their worldwide Covid-19 approach.

Customer Relations Specialist - Checkouts

Logan, Brisbane

As a Customer Relations Specialist I have specialized myself in the last part of the customer experience within IKEA: the checkouts. A selection of the main duties: Continiously in a conversation with the customer, scanning articles and the associated payment processes (cash & card payments), manning the electronical check outs (ECO's) and jointly closing the cash office. In addition, my knowledge gained during my years at IKEA Breda (as a Sales Specialist and Shopkeeper) comes in very handy with regard to product names, product locations in the store and the internal IKEA procedures and processes. This enables me to fully assist both the customer and my colleagues with all their enquiries and uncertainties. Due to Visa legislations, I was only offered a 6 months contract. I had been transfered to the IKEA store in North Lakes to start with a new 6 months. contract.

Roadtrip / Farmwork - Australia

Australia

Australia

From May 2018 till October 2018 I have - accompanied by a friend - traveled the entire country of Australia by car. During this 23.000km long roadtrip I have seen the most beautiful parts of the country and have met the most inspiring bunch of people. This mix of cultural differences and beauty has given me the inspiration to settle myself down and experience working in a foreign country. From October 2018 till May 2019 I have worked as a farm hand on picking fields and a plant nursery in Glass House Mountains (QLD). This work was essential to apply for my second Working Holiday Visa (417) and extend my stay in Australia by one year. During this period I have lived with a host family in Glass House Mountains, located 3km from my work and 80km from Brisbane.
