After a 40+ year career with 5 companies in numerous engineering fields I’ve finally retired. The kids are gone and on their own and we’re enjoying country living with horses, goats, chickens, a large garden and plenty of time for canning and other foodie things we always enjoyed.I’m still shooting and instructing multiple shooting disciplines with a nice range here on the property. I still tinker with hardware and software and have been putting more time into ham radio and emergency preparedness and communications. I’m also trying to stay in shape by getting back into my martial artsThe money that I socked away over the years into those 401K and other retirement plans have really shown their use, leaving us with plenty of income to do pretty much what we want to do.I’ve always been a night owl, and except for some structured events in my life mike appointments and meetings, I sleep when I’m tired and eat when I’m hungry.This for me is the ideal retirement.
