Senior Consultant/Director-Field Briefing Program
CurrentUpon Dell’s acquisition of EMC, I worked to ensure a smooth transition of our customers, staff, and sales programs. I quickly recognized and championed our new value propositions and maintained a high touch customer experience, despite numerous challenges.By the time of the acquisition, the Executive Field Briefing Program that I established and piloted in 2001 had grown to become one of the best in the industry. For years I’d been simplifying and driving efficiencies to make it the best it could be, and as senior consultant and director under Dell, this program was augmented. This program enables customers to share their own unique technical, business or operational challenges and allows candid conversations focused on how Dell Technologies can help. Sales can host a field briefing at a customers’ corporate headquarters or at any local venue that’s convenient for the customer, around the globe, to promote the Dell Technologies Advantage, and other, unique value differentiators. MY KEY RESULTS:► EXCEEDED PREVIOUS RECORD and hosted more than fifty 1x1 customer briefings at Dell Tech World event (DTW).► DOUBLED NUMBER OF PLATINUM EXECUTIVE BRIEFINGS AND INCREASED RELATED REVENUES 63% at DTW 2019
Senior Director/Director, Global Field Briefing Program
As senior director, I further expanded and improved the highly popular Field Briefing Program. This program was implemented and piloted in 2001 to support our enterprise sales campaigns following the attacks of 9/11, and enabled us to meet with our customers & corporate executives who were reluctant to fly and continue to drive our messaging on the EMC story, and EMC’s commitment to providing the best products, solutions, and services. Our first field briefings at EMC World began as small, one-off dinners during our Event, to discuss state-of-the-art EMC technologies. This quickly grew into more frequent, formal, high-touch briefings to senior decision-makers, in our customer accounts. The program now has a global reach and is considered one of the best in the industry.MY KEY RESULTS:► ACCELERATED AND ADDED VALUE TO ENTERPRISE SALES CAMPAIGNS, GREW PIPELINE TO STRATEGIC CUSTOMERS, AND INCREASED REVENUES.► HIRED, RETAINED, AND MANAGED TEAM OF 6 to execute field briefings for enterprise sales in North America.► ESTABLISHED TWO NEW EXECUTIVE BRIEFING CENTERS in Washington, D.C. and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to expand program beyond U.S. markets.► INCREASED REVENUE AND OPENED PIPELINE TO SOUTH AMERICAN MARKETS 30 DAYS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED, despite complicated Brazilian labor laws. Capitalized on forward momentum to generate buzz through conversations with strategic customers.► EXPANDED EXECUTIVE FIELD BRIEFING PROGRAM to customers in EMEA and APJ and grew addressable revenue from $100M to $250M. ► BOOSTED SALES AND GENERATED PIPELINE by creating various customer programs and engagements focused on small to mid-tier businesses (SMBs) and commercial segments.► PROVIDED BEST-IN-CLASS SALES SUPPORT TO NEW AND EXISTING CUSTOMERS by coordinating and managing a virtual, team of 500+ global SMEs and discussion leaders (DLs).
Regional Technical Director, Customer Services/Global Technical Support
After being promoted to Global Technical Support and then later to Customer Services, I worked cross-organizationally with product/customer support technicians, sales account reps, sales divisional VPs, managers, and senior executives to improve response time to technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction. MY KEY RESULTS: ► ADVANCED WINNING PROPOSAL that significantly improved service and response time to customers by creating and defining new role of Regional Technical Director and consolidating responsibility for all h/w & s/w support issues into a single point of contact.► ROLLED OUT NEW ROLE AND SERVICE MODEL to customers in APJ (Asia-Pacific & Japan) countries.► INCREASED REVENUES by implementing more effective method of attributing service costs to customers.► STRENGTHENED CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS by taking team onsite when issues arose and acted a point person until all issues were resolved.► LED FIELD TEAM of 14 hardware, 12 software, and 30+ matrixed engineers, support technicians, and customer service configurations specialists around the globe.
Engineer / Technician
While at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, I was directly recruited by EMC and immediately tasked with providing technical and product support to facilitate their rapid growth.MY KEY RESULTS: ► INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY AND REDUCED ACTIVITY PROBLEMS 50% by co-creating and heading a change control team.► SELECTED TO SET UP/BUILD OUT NEW CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTERS in Ireland and Japan. Trained local employees in EMC’s best practices. Continued to develop rapport with services personnel during subsequent visits as part of a rotational program.
