I am a lawyer with 30+ years'​ experience and several years ago I formed a new firm, MBC Law, to reflect and implement my views on the practice of law.Educated at Auckland Grammar School, I obtained an Honours Degree in Law from the University of Auckland and a scholarship to study at the University of London where I was granted a Master of Laws. My principal interests are in commercial litigation and dispute resolution and I am an Associate Member of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand Inc., the leading body in New Zealand for people working in dispute resolution. I also advise on company and commercial business transactions and restructuring, and I have a special interest in insolvency, often acting for Liquidators and Receivers.Outside of law, I have a keen interest in all aspects of aviation, but particularly in gliding. I currently hold the position of Honorary Solicitor for the Auckland Gliding Club. I am also a keen runner and I am a 5th Degree Black Belt and a senior chief instructor in Kempo Karate. I have spent many years teaching adult and children’s classes and overseeing student and Black Belt grading qualifications.
