Pre-fit is a company which specializes in student snowsports equipment hire. Offering a unique service Pre-fit would arrange fittings across the UK of boots skis helmet’s and more to eliminate the hassle of trip goers having to do this in resort as their equipment would be shipped out and meet them there. Hexham golf club is one of the top golf clubs in the north east, delivering quality service to golfers and members of the public alike, hosting corporate events, private functions and large golf competitions. I first started working there in March 2011 mainly working in the kitchen, however throughout my time there I had to do a large variety of tasks depending on what was on at the golf club. Once I turned 18 I could work front of house in a team varying from 1-6. I enjoyed the increased level of responsibility and interaction with the customers, whilst learning sales skills and all the time improving my interpersonal and time management skills. In this position, I had to think on my feet as often I sole charge of the bar/restaurant, where serving drinks, managing stock as well as waiting food all had to be priorities. In this role, there was always events and functions that had to be sold as well as selected drinks with targets that would have to be met. This high-pressure environment increased my sales techniques greatly.

At Ridley Hall I worked weekends serving large functions both from behind the doors of the kitchen and serving and waiting on table and attending to guests every need. The functions varied greatly from Weddings to Band tours and Bingo clubs meaning that each week presented a new challenge to overcome. In this, my first job, I learnt how to communicate with co workers effectively to benefit a team as well as greatly improving my time management skills and multi tasking abilities. Further more the customer service skills i learned here were invaluable in more recent work.
