Managing the discipline installation, testing, commissioning, handover, operation & maintenance manuals.Automation hardware experience; SES/STS Telemetry, Schneider Talus T4e RTU, Siemens Microbox PC, Brodersen RTU32, GEM80 PLC’s, Siemens S7 PLC family, Allen Bradley PLC family. Responsible for planning & scheduling of resources, populating the project SPI (InTools) database and generating SPI deliverables, I/O Lists, Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, Cable Schedules, Loop Diagrams & FF Segment Diagrams. Package engineering of Junction Boxes, Instrument Cables, Oglaend rack & support system. Managing subcontract engineering resources for the production of Cable Block Diagrams, Junction Box Schedules, Instrumentation Layouts, F&G Layouts, Interconnection Schedules, Termination Schedules & Hook ups. Site based engineering support activities during construction in Singapore. Technologies involved with, Foundation Fieldbus, HART, Siemens S7, Emerson Delta V & Kongsberg. Projects involved in, conversion of the Shell FPSO Espirito Santo, BP SKARV Turret & BP QUAD204 Turret FEED & EPC.

Responsible for the development of an interim Corporate Security Management System based upon Guardall Intruder Detection System hardware, implementation based upon TCP/IP protocols using the existing UU telemetry hardware & WAN infrastructure. Other projects and responsibilities have included the development of HART & Profibus instrument interfaces to UU’s telemetry outstation, development of Modbus instrument interfaces to Dynamic Logic D7000 series telemetry outstations. Development of a non intrusive low cost Combined Sewer Overflow telemetry outstation.Extensively involved at both the field and centre for commissioning & configuration of UU’s water and wastewater telemetry systems.

Refurbishment of 8 land gas compressor station installations in Nigeria, some 20 years old for Shell Petroleum Development Corporation. My diverse responsibilities include, specification of cable, cable systems & accessories, lighting schemes, gas engine generators, Generator Control Panels, switchboard / MCC’s, UPS’s, hazardous area junction boxes, hazardous area motors & control stations, local control panels. Accompanying our Client on factory acceptance tests, in country site supervision & engineering support, commissioning of the various Unit Control Panels, Generator Control Panels, Fire & Gas detection systems & the Station Control Panel up to the Siemens PLC interface. In addition to managing a team of 4 draughtsmen to produce the relevant engineering drawings to facilitate site installation work.

Reporting to the Project Manager for the Tay Wastewater Project, I was responsible for the integration of field mounted instrumentation and electrical equipment with the localMCC / ICA panel across 12 sites. With polyphase electric motor sizes ranging from 0.75kW to 560kW and a wide spectrum of instrumentation, many of which adopt hazardous area protection methods including intrinsically safe, EEx’e’ & EEx’d’. My role involved close liaison with our Client, our in house MCC / ICA designers, software engineers, manufacturing team, OEM’s and sub-contractors to generate accurate information to facilitate installation and commissioning.
