At RapidSOS, I am responsible for the service availability and security of our mission critical platform, particularly our production environment which serves real world 911 emergencies. I manage a team consisting of SRE/DevOps, Production Security, and Network Operations. Relevant technologies employed are AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, Github, and Datadog. My initial focus was to standardize the VPC build process on 50+ AWS accounts which I accomplished with CloudFormation. As part of the CCoE (Cloud Center of Excellence) team I worked to improve our processes via automation: Jenkins jobs to standardize AMIs, Ansible & Packer to ensure OS consistency, Python Boto3/Lambda to fill gaps in AWS functionality, EKS to deploy Docker images into Kubernetes. I also performed AWS training as part of a curriculum.
