I’m a recovering politician, with a passion for sound and sensible public policy. I am fascinated by technology and have long been an early adopter. I’m also a fan of trekking (summited Kilimanjaro twice – most recent trek in Iceland) and travel.First elected in 1988, I served in several cabinet posts from 1993-2003, including as Deputy Prime Minister. I am the past-Chair of several publicly traded companies, and still chair the board of one other. I am active in the not-for-profit sector. I have 7 grandchildren who make the task of improving the world an urgent one!
