The first phase included the replacement of three elementary schools, the expansion and modernization of two high schools, major systems improvements at eight additional elementary schools and one high school, implementation of a district-wide Integrated Security System, and $4 million per year in small capital improvement projects. A complete restructuring of the custodial, grounds, and maintenance programs, with resulting changes in service levels and expectations, was required.Applied for, and received, a $500,000 grant for energy efficiency, and oversaw implementation of numerous energy related improvements, including the purchase and installation of a 50,000 gallon LPG tank to supply the heating systems in all buildings across three school campuses. Resulting in significant savings in purchasing propane in volume.
