My interest and education in art began at a very early age and my background in the service industry, with management experience, makes me an excellent candidate for the Graphic Design position. My background in the arts is varied from fine art to graphic design, and I have experience in various mediums, from drawing and painting to sculpting. As a student at the Tidewater College of Visual Arts I excelled as a fine artist, winning Best In Show at the student art exhibition in the category of drawing and illustration. Upon graduating I became a freelance graphic artist, acquiring various different clients, and working on projects from editorial design to logos. I have managed small start up projects with limited budgets for local non-profits, to larger scale projects for established national brands. As a freelance graphic artist I received first hand experience in teamwork, communication, individual responsibility, and the ability to work well with clients all while meeting deadlines. I also have extensive knowledge and experience in the service industry, which translates directly to the available position with the hiring company. As service industry professional I have been responsible for opening new venues, training new employees, and maintaining a team environment. Other responsibilities included maintaining inventory, managing daily revenue, and educating customers and employees on the available products. I take pride in my ability to maintain positive working relationships with both fellow employees and customers, and I excel in a team-driven environment.
