Profile bio

About Johnathan Martir

I'm a junior at Williams College majoring in Political Economy and concentrating in Latina/o Studies. As a first-generation Salvadoran American, I've devoted much of my developing years to civic engagement and public service to represent my community and address the socioeconomic issues present within it. I'm primarily interested in pursuing a career in urban and rural planning, specifically in policy initiatives that provide equitable and affordable housing to economically vulnerable communities. I gained much of my outreach and data analytical skills from working at private firms, as part of my high school's work-study program, such as Morgan Stanley and Lazard Asset Management through managing fund trackers and official contract agreements. These skills were further developed throughout my experiences in state offices, non-profit organizations, and community leadership positions such as my local community board's housing and land use committee. I've garnered a deep passion for research concerned with ways to establish public-private relationships in economic development across diverse regional experiences and challenges.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Communication, Easily Adaptable, Organization Skills, and 1 others.
