Researching policy initiatives, primarily in land-use regulation reform, in sustaining public-private relationships towards a housing production plan (HPP) for the city of North Adams.The fellowship aims to foster student research focused on contemporary issues in U.S. economic, social, and/or environmental policy, including but not limited to community and regional development, regulation, inequality, and/or processes and powers of the American Government at any level.

To strengthen regional ties between the student bodies of colleges within and near Western Massachusetts, as Co-Chair of the Minority Coalition, I propose to organize and host a student leadership conference/summit at Williams College. The goals of this conference are to connect college students across Western Massachusetts, and southern Vermont, to exchange strategies and have an open dialogue about the regional issues Berkshire County faces and the experiences of marginalized communities within higher education.

As an intern at the Office of Assemblyman Kenneth Burgos, I responded to calls from constituents within the 85th Assembly District and directed them to resources such as applying for housing, employment, voting, etc. I engaged with constituent events such as community board and tenant association meetings to write memos that informed the assembly member of the happenings of the community while he was in Albany. I assisted constituents with completing applications to cash assistance programs through the NYC Agency of Human Resource Administration. Additionally, I managed constituent cases regarding housing and collaborated with the office housing specialist to provide the constituents with support through the housing court and affordable application process.
