He has build several businesses in medical devices ; medical innovations ; drug discovery and validation ; biotechnology and small molecule API. He is now member of the Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus and responsible for business development and business creation. He is now co-founder and CEO at Corporis Medical a medtech company with HQ at the Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus. Previous roles include Senior Director for the Drug Delivery Center of Excellence at DSM Biomedical where he was responsible for leading the Drug Delivery team and managing the strategy its business and technology development . He combined this role with a role in the management team of DSM Biomedical.John has worked in the Pharmaceutical and Medtech industries in various senior Sales and Marketing positions. He served as Business director for Medical Coatings, a high growth business in Medical which under his leadership, was initiated and build into a successful business . Prior to that John was Director of Marketing and Sales/VP of Business Development for DSM Biologics, where he was responsible for all business development sales and distribution activities, strategic planning and process implementation in Biologics. Prior to his role as Sales/VP of Business Development, John was the Director of Business Strategy and Acquisitions at DSM Fine Chemicals, where he was responsible for strategic planning and M&A for various business units. In his 20+ years with the company, he has negotiated various multi-year development, technology license and manufacturing deals with large pharmaceutical, Medical and biotech companies, divested businesses and assets, set up of world wide distribution networks and dealth with suppliers and customers with high-risk exposures. John holds two patents and has over 13 published editorial pieces in top scientific journals. John holds a PhD, Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Leiden, the Netherlands.
