Panama City, Florida Area

Surveyed over 100 potential eastern tri-colored bat (Perimyotis subflavus) hibernacula to determine the presence or absence of WNS by means of visual signs, swabbing their forearms and muzzles, and/or performing a UV illumination test. Installed temperature data loggers in several caves that were selected by the following factors: important tri-colored bat.

Performed radio telemetry, bat banding, emergence counts, and field reconnaissance. Set up Anabat acoustic devices at field sites and analyzed bat calls. Also set up Indiana bat acoustic lure devices by playing either social or distress calls in hopes of increasing our capture success. In the summer of 2010, I registered to be a research assistant with the non-profit organization Operation Wallacea.
