Worked closely with Hocking College Staff Architect and Lincoln Welding Co to design and plan new state of the art welding lab. Provide direction for instruction and assessment. Work closely with the advisory committee members to provide industry with competent entry level or higher employees. Assure that curriculum is in line with industry needs.This accelerated program is 16 weeks long focusing on (SMAW) Shielded Metal Arc Welding. It prepares the student to take the D1.1 /ASME plate and pipe qualification test. Successful completion of program qualifies graduates to enter workplace at entry level or above. The program covers oxyfuel cutting, welding, soldering and brazing, print reading, hands on experience in GTAW (Tig) GMAW (Mig) FCAW (flux core) and operating all shop machinery. A graduate will earn 17 college credits upon completion.

The course is designed to teach and certify welding students in all processes and positions. We also teach fabrication, print reading, shop math ,and layout. Emphasis is placed on job seeking skills such as attendance, attitude, and work ethics. The course of study is comprehensive and accelerated. The students will achieve or exceed industry standards while studying at Great Oaks Career Campus during the 10 months of extensive training. The Adult Welding Program for 2015-16 obtained 100% certifications and 85% job placement in the Cincinnati area. Congratulation to all the students for their outstanding effort.
