As the "Uni-Shear" Product Line Manager I was responsible for the rehabilitation and fresh development of several products. "SSI Uni-Shears" are single shaft rotary shredders that have many advantages over other shredders but also require intensive design. I headed efforts to transform outdated designs of the SR900 shredder to be industry leading. I designed multiple features on the 20-ton machine that are highly valued by customers and not attempted by competitors and Kaizen improved beyond expectations. Turned a product from dormant state to hot product of multiple million-dollar projects a year. Identified key risk areas and redesigned to reduce risks or reduce effects.Concurrently designed an even larger shredder, the SR1000, a 30-ton universal shredder with competitive features on every front. Currently assessing market, risks, materials, manufacturing processes and new machining centers to upgrade capabilities. I designed bearing and drive systems for large Uni-Shears, including developing a roller-taper bearing preload plan specific to the application. I work with purchasing and order release departments regularly and create Bill of Materials and routing in CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine). I coordinate with the Customer Service department when needed and facilitate the feedback to redesign Kaizen process.

I was also responsible for design changes and material sourcing for one-off projects to reduce wear, cost, and manufacturing time. Terminal Assistant for the Alaska Marine Highway at the Skagway terminal. The Marine Highway provides essential transportation for the residents of Southeast Alaska, and an excellent way for travelers to experience Alaska. Ferry Terminal Assistants help customers with sales and ticketing, luggage, boarding, and disembarking the ships. Other duties include line handling for the ships tying up and casting off, security detail responsible for Terminal premisis and vehicles loading, janitorial and maintenence for Terminal building, and occasional coreograph of vehicle loading. The White Pass Railroad is mainly a tourist railroad presently and as train agent, tours were given and questions answered as well as assistance provided loading and unloading trains of up to 500 passengers, usually twice a day. Very active and demanding employment, constantly moving and decision making to ease the transitions the train goes through. As Station Master the coordination between motorcoach and train transfers was made as well as organization of load plans and manifests.
