Recieved my degree in Mechanical Engineering in four years. For my senior design project I worked with seven other seniors to design and build a hydrogen fuel cell powered car for the annual Shell Eco-Marathon in Houston, TX. My responsibility for the vehicle was to design and manufacture components for the steering and suspension system. Our vehicle won first place in the hydrogen category achieving 60.1 Kw-hr/mi or 1254 MPGe.

I was trained as a Nuclear Machinist Mate and served six and a half years on the USS Nimitz. During that time I planned, coordinated and performed maintenance in Reactor Mechanical Division and achieved the rank of First Class Petty Officer. I was qualified Chief Reactor Watch and one of eight First Class Petty Officers on board qualified Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor. During my last deployment in 2009 & 2010 I trained four watch teams as a Propulsion Plant Drill Team Watch Supervisor and Chief Reactor Watch.
