I am an experienced educator, counselor and administrator with proven skills working with students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. With extensive experience in secondary education, I am now using these skills to provide students the support they need at the undergraduate level.My true passion lies in helping young adults navigate the challenges of academic and career planning and all that goes along with ‘adulting’.My work has been recognized by my former students in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” and, more recently, by the larger community as the Delbarton “Distinguished Educator” for 2022.In my many years as a student, teacher, counselor, and school administrator - in educational settings both public and private, in communities both urban and suburban - the great truth that comes forward is that all humanity shares some common struggles and we all crave to be accepted, listened to, understood, and loved regardless of our individual circumstances. These words from Dr. Brene Brown resonate with me: “Empathy has no script. There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message ‘you’re not alone.’”
