McHenry Golf Limited (MGL) specialises in the provision of a diversified range of specialised golf services to start-up as well as to existing golf resorts, be it management to business plans and strategies.It also provides a comprehensive project management service for larger corporate and international golf sporting events such as the recent 3 Irish Open professional golf tournament.In recent years, McHenry Golf spent a considerable amount of time trying to break new ground through the development, promotion and implementation of a new six hole short format golf game (Golf Warriors) for the golf industry. This golf game is exclusively aimed at attracting a younger but more time conscious generation of golfers into or back into the game. It is fun, dynamic and short and makes greater use of social media. • Throughout this period, McHenry Golf Limited presented its ideas and content to amongst others - in Europe, the European Tour, Rory McIlroy and Paul McGinley and in the US to Michael Whan ( CEO of the LPGA), “Chip” Brewer (CEO Callaway Golf), Greg Norman and to The Golf Channel. Outcome A modified version of the game (GolfSixes) was introduced on the European Tour in 2017. The results of that game trialled and measured 1. Saw a 42% increase in new golf fans at the event compared to standard European Tour tournaments. 2. Attendees were also 14% younger than those seen during the rest of the golfing calendar. 3. The event also exceeded the average rate seen at other European Tour tournaments by 24%, delivering over 20 million social impressions.The European Tour has also committed to running a special showcase event during The 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris in order to bring the GolfSixes concept to a global audience.
