I’m a former longtime Wall Street Journal reporter in Washington now doing communications strategy and messaging for clients. I’ve covered tech policy, the White House, the financial crisis, and fiscal and economic policy. I’m an erstwhile editor and adjunct journalism professor at Georgetown. I’m passionate about business and its outsized importance in shaping our lives and livelihoods. Sometimes business does great things, and sometimes not-so-great things, sometimes both at once. Occasionally it’s funny. Always it's interesting.Along the way, I've established a track record of producing engaging, agenda-setting features and impactful scoops and breaking news. I'm adept at developing networks and cultivating sources, conducting deep-dive research, and crafting and editing compelling, consequential stories that captivate and even motivate audiences. I'm driven to explain difficult topics in clear, relatable, fun ways. I'm fascinated by the big-picture impacts of business practices on real people. I have a proven ability to use critical thinking and excellent news judgment, meet tight deadlines, deliver innovative and accurate content, and work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team. I've been a motivating and highly effective university journalism adjunct professor. Currently, I'm also considering selected challenging full-time roles.
