  Square opened in Bath in 1981. Over the next decades the store grew until it is now located in the centre of Bath. One of my prime roles was to make contact and then buy from all of the leading luxury goods and contemporary fashion designers in the world. Square has been acknowledged as one of the leading UK and world wide iindependents by all of the national and trade press for over a decade.I have extensive contacts throughout the industry. I also have a detailed knowledge and contacts within the UK independent market. My masters was based on the fashion industry with a thesis on the buying process and the role of 'key buyers'. Clearly I have not worked for a 'corporate' body but throughout my career I have been dealing with and understand how they work. I have an extensive experience and expertise of retail but also believe this could equally be applied for brand development and wholesale operations. Having travelled extensively throughout my career I am willing to relocate for the right role.Whistles Franchise.In 1999 I developed the first Whistles franchise with the then owners. This involved determining the mix of own label plus outside collections for the store; the contract between the franchise holder and Whistles plus the design of the franchise store. My knowledge of the independent market was deemed so valuable that even though Whistles was sold first to Karen Millen and then to Arcadia we were kept on as the only franchise store. Eventually we closed the store in 2007 and moved the collections to the newly opened Square store in the centre of Bath.Luxury goods storeIn 2001 I opened a stand alone accessory store. This store carried the bags, shoes, and accessories of all the leading luxury good companies including Prada, Gucci, Fendi and Dolce and Gabbana. I was involved in developing the relationship and extensive travelling to Italy to buy from these companies.
