After 27 years of running my own fine finishing company and being a music recording and performing artist I started a custom furniture company called SCATHAIN (Gaelic for mirror). Combining my artistic sensibilities with customer care and leadership skills Scathain blossomed through an otherwise barren business terrain post 2008 recession. Scathain is located in Milwaukee WI. We create custom and production furnishings and accents for hospitality, commercial and residential clients. Our 30 person team is made up of designers, artists, furniture grade wood workers, blacksmiths, metal workers, cast metal sculptors, glass workers, finishers and administrators. In addition to our unconventional wood finishes and metal patinas, we are one of a few companies who hand-silver mirrors in antique and artistic formulas. Scathain’s success stems from building strong repeat business relationships with notable companies such as Kohler and Harley Davidson as well as popular boutique hotel firms such as Kimpton and White Lodge. The creative core stems from delivering the highest quality, one of a kind home furnishings to our residential fan base.Scathain is now in the process of developing our own line of designer furniture due for release in the Fall of 2018.Since 2008 I have produced and sold thousands of one of a kind custom furniture pieces ranging from dressers, coffee tables, end tables, upholstered couches, arm chairs and banquets, credenzas, consoles, large metal and wood tables, mirror and picture frames, mirrors, glass and metal tiles, range hoods, authentic reclaimed products, forged steel elements, lighting fixtures, ferrous and non ferrous cast art sculpture and architectural applications. The list continues to expand.We are always looking for new partners and are constantly developing new formulas, finishes and products for our valued customers while at the same time developing our own line.

Incorporating new techniques, our intention is to fashion reflective surfaces which celebrate the alchemy of the silvering process and result in custom works from the purely functional to objet d'art. In addition we have produced a line of custom one off and production furniture capitalizing on combining metal patinas and vintage woods serving the hospitality, commercial and consumer market.
