    With Marion Wands, I established ConNetica Consulting in February 2007 after a 30 year career (largely) in the public sector with stints in consultancy, academia and the not-for-profit sector. In the time since 2007, ConNetica has undertaken over 300 projects - small scale through to the very large and complex - in mental health, suicide prevention, disability employment, and governance and strategy. We have also provided training in suicide prevention and mental health and wellbeing to over 5,000 people in organisations and communities from the Kimberley to Cape York, the Central Wheat Belt of WA to Eastern Melbourne. A time of profound change in mental health care in Australia where a 20% real increase in funding saw the development of new community models of care.

    As Deputy and Acting CEO, with Natalie Howson (CEO), I played a key role in the development of the whole of government Tough on Drugs in Sport Strategy under the Howard Government and the international efforts to restore credibility to Olympic sport in the lead up to the Sydney Olympics. I lead the restructuring, reengineering and quality management initiatives at ASDA. ASDA became the first Commonwealth agency to every receive an Australian Quality Council award. I also lead the project to reach agreements with international sports federations and dozens of governments to ensure pre-Games testing of all Olympic athletes were legally robust.
