I was assigned a middle-school student that I would meet with each week for about ~1 hour to talk about how their classes are going and to spend time doing what they may enjoy: playing board games, going outside, etc. It is not required of me, but I tend to check in with them about their future goals and if there is any way I could help them with discovering their true passions. At this age it's important to have someone to look up to and ask for advice and I want to provide that opportunity to those that need it.
