Led the clinical design for over $500 million in new facility development within the greater Seattle market. This included the Swedish Issaquah Campus one of the most innovative greenfield hospitals in the country. This award winning new hospital opened 4 months ahead of schedule and $30 million under budget. It integrated a spectrum of innovative technologies while simultaneously transforming the patient experience. Led the design and operations teams in the application a variety of energy saving structural elements and associated operational processes. The result was an over 70% reduction total energy consumption compared to standard hospital designs, making it one of the greenest hospitals in the world. Responsible for overall business development, medical staff recruitment, clinical quality, and clinical operations of the Issaquah Hospital during design and start-up phases. Had specific leadership responsibility for the operating rooms, emergency department and inpatient units, guiding the overall facility into the black financially within the first 10 months of operations. Strong focus on development of corporate culture with an emphasis on operational efficiency and patient/community experience.Additional new market development experience includes the Swedish Lake Sammamish, Swedish Redmond and Swedish Mill Creek Ambulatory Care Centers (freestanding emergency departments with associated full service imaging, lab, primary care and specialty services). These represented the first freestanding emergency departments in the State of Washington, winning multiple awards for patient safety, patient experience and operational efficiency.
