Responsible for opening and closing the store, training associates, providing superior customer service and utilizing product knowledge and service techniques to meet the needs of customers. Correctly measure and fit customers to appropriate products while educating them on the features and benefits of the products. Perform stock and inventory functions.

Models standards for fitting, selling and customer service skills, handles and resolves customer problems and complaints, establishes daily goals with Assistant Store Manager and Sales Associates, monitors individual and store sales performance vs. goals and plan, Manages employees sales performance through training, reinforcement, coaching, counseling and goal cards, monitors "Lost Sales" and reacts to causes with appropriate actions, supervis and monitors all terminal procedures, verifying compliance to policy and procedures, conducts quarterly sales meetings. Maintains up to date model stock programs, manages stockroom organization and layout, executes and maintains correct pricing and ticketing procedures, identifies and communicates unsaleable merchandise, monitors special ordering and hold procedures, communicates on an ongoing basis with District Manager regarding merchandise overages and needs, ability to lift merchadise in and out of stockroom, sufficient manual dexterity to operate all registers and equipment, package customer purchases and restock shelves with new merchandise. Implements product presentation guidelines for window and the selling floor in a timely basis, executes and reinforces product presentation stands with all employees, executes all promotional programs establishes and monitors ongoing housingkeeping program on a daily basis. Develops weekly staff schedules, manages asset protection including cash shrink, paperwork shrink and merchandise shrink. Executes store security procedures when handling deposits. Manages physical inventory procedures. Handles all personell management function on a timely manner. Completes other duties assigned by the District Manager.

Primary duty of managing the store when the Store Manager is not present and to coach and supervise sales associates. Provides customers services by:Approaching customers, asking questions to determine customer needs, selecting appropriate merchandise, measuring feet, ensuring proper fit, selling features and benifits of product, building the sale, closing the sale, handling customer complaints, handling special fitting requests, fills special orders.Completes transactions by:Handling cash payments, handling checks, handling credit card sales, handling split sales, handling returns/exhanges, updating customer recordsAssists the Store Manager in maintaining the general appearance or the store; assists the Store Manager in maintaining store operations. Follows Stride Rite merchandising standards to ensure proper use of fixtures, proper arrangement of stock, signage of store and to ensure timely and proper presentation of promotions. Follows housekeeping requirements to ensure store cleanliness. Directs or completes daily activities of store on a timely basis, for example: store opening/closing, paperwork (daily audit, cash report, deposits, payroll time reports and stock summary reports.) Trains and reinforces the following with Sales Associates: Customer service skills, selling skills, terminal functions, paperwork procedures, merchandising techniques, housekeeping standards. Ablility to lift or move goods weighing up to 40 pounds a distance of several feet. Ability to lift merchandise in an out of stockroom. Delegates work assignments and follow up. Manages the store in absence of Store Manager. Completes other duties assigned by Store Manager and District Manager; maintains communication with Store Manager and District Manager.

Service Customers by using selling skills and by ringing purchases and returns on the terminal. Maintains an attractive and pleasant shopping environment by completing house keeping and merchandising responsibilities. Assists in the functioning of the store by completing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager; maintains communications with superiors. Ability to life merchandise in and out of stockroom. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate all registers and equipment, package customer purchases and restock shelves with new merchandise.
