During his tenure, APEG assisted companies with over 130 capital projects that added 6,100 new jobs to APEG's 25-county service area. From 2006 to 2012 John Molinaro served as co-director of The Aspen Institute Community Strategies Group (CSG) where he assisted leaders from across the US in building the prosperity of communities and the people who live in them, John's work at CSG focused on economic, community and workforce development, family economic success and community philanthropy in rural and small metro regions.Prior to to 2006, John served as VP of West Central initiative, a community foundation and community development corporation in Minnesota where he was responsible for grantmaking, strategic planning, community development, leadership development and regional planning. While at WCI, John led a regional workforce development initiative that transformed the economy of a rural region by increasing the marketable skills of its workforce. Molinaro advised the White House Rural Council on rural development policy, served a Policy Fellow at the Univ. of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute, and a two-term appointee to the MN's Governor's Workforce Development Council. He has also served on the US Small Business Administration's Council on Underserved Communities and on The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's Community Advisory Council. He is certified in Economic Development and Housing Development Finance and holds a Master’s Degree in regional planning.
