As the College Information Officer of the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, ON and Canadian Forces College in Toronto, a post-graduate school for senior officers with the Canadian Armed Forces, oversee and direct the provision of effective and efficient provision of information technology (IT) and communications and information systems (CIS) service management.Manage the Colleges' technological infrastructure, including networks and computer systems, mobile devices, telephones, and other voice and data communication methods to facilitate optimal performance. I also direct, schedule, and organize IT-related projects.Select projects and accomplishment include: ⇨ Lead the process of merging IT and CIS support across the Canadian Defence Academy's five academic institutions including RMC, CFC, Royal Military College in St. Jean, QC, and the two Canadian Forces Language School detachments in Gatineau and St Jean, QC being implemented over the next three years.⇨ Lead the support of six primary networks in four geographic locations which serve staff and faculty, along with nearly 1500 students both in residence and by distance learning. ⇨ Supervise 45 staff, including IT and AV staff, providing direction and coaching to team leaders to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. ⇨ Oversee the management of multiple complex IT and AV projects across the four sites ⇨ To ensure the security of data and networks, maintain awareness on the latest cyber security threats and plan and implement protective strategies across the organization.

While deployed overseas, as the Senior IT Director (J6) of CF Joint Task Force (JTF) - Iraq, managed the provision of communications and information systems to the Canadian JTF operating in and around Iraq.Ensured that mission-critical networks and command and control (C2) weapons systems were planned, built, sustained, protected, and extended to deployed forces. Liaised with allies and facilitated integration with allied networks.Select projects and accomplishments include:⇨ Oversaw a staff of 7 and indirectly directed more than 40 people to set up and manage multiple classified networks, several unclassified capabilities, satellite-radio-based systems, and related communications infrastructure.⇨ To improve video integration of reconnaissance feeds from aircraft into IT and CIS networks, and the subsequent push to our allies to enable operations, implemented system upgrades and improvements.⇨ As the mission evolved and needs changed, managed the continuous upgrade and maintenance of IT and communications networks.⇨ Led the provision of complex services to JTF members operating across three countries in five different physical locations, frequently requiring support to small mobile elements in remote, difficult to access locales.
