John Moraros is an internationally recognized leader, scholar and senior administrator in the fields of public health, epidemiology/health disparities and higher education. Dr. Moraros is the Dean and Professor, Faculty of Health Studies, Brandon University. Dr. Moraros maintains an active interdisciplinary teaching and research agenda. In the past, Dr. Moraros served on a number of academic leadership positions, including: Director, Master of Public Health; Director, Research Integrated Community Action Network (iCAN); and as an Executive Board member for a number of organizations. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts in highly respected scientific journals and has given more than 60 scientific presentations (both oral and poster format) in various national and international conferences. Dr. Moraros research is predicated on evidence-based, community participatory approach, which leads to practical and effective public health interventions and utilizes culturally appropriate strategies to help empower minority, marginalized and vulnerable populations to take ownership of their own healthcare needs, services, and status.
